Interruption of Lecco-Sondrio-Tirano railway line

Between 15 June and 14 September 2025, the railway line between Lecco and Tirano will be affected by major upgrading and maintenance work carried out by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana and Ferrovienord to modernise and optimise train circulation.

Considering the high impact of these worksites on railway mobility in the province of Lecco, Trenord has created a section of the website to update on planned changes and detailed information.

Trenord will ensure adequate mobility, with replacement buses, travel solutions and alternative routes (where possible), respecting the needs of regular travellers and tourists using the services.

However, it remains possible to reach the area affected by the interruption of the railway line, starting from the city of Lecco, with the local public transport lines by road (bus), which have been upgraded in order to offer an alternative means of mobility. As a result of these implementations, we inform you that the D20 Lecco-Mandello, D35 Lecco-Barzio-Pasturo-Taceno-Premana, D50 Lecco-Garlate-Valgreghentino-Merate, D55 and D60 lines will be terminated on Via Balicco, while the other LPT bus lines will remain in Piazza Stazione.

Regular public transport by water has also been enhanced thanks to the planning put in place by Navigazione Laghi. For those wishing to choose this alternative form of mobility, it is possible to reach the boat terminal, located on Lungolario Cesare Battisti, with a walk of just a few minutes from Lecco railway station, as shown below.
